Name: Mary Ricksen
Location: West Palm Beach, FL, United States

I moved to Florida in 1980. I was born in Vt., but it's cold sooo long, I'll settle for scenic North Carolina. I enjoy the change of seasons. Spring, summer, winter, and fall, all have such a unique flavor; here it's just too subtle. I loved to ride horses more than anything. My dog Junior is a character in my first book, and there will be more of my pets in my next book. We moved a lot when I was young, from Canada to New York, and from Texas, to Florida. I met all kinds of people, and I find that the more rural it is, the more friendly people are. I have been married for a long time. So long it's like he's my left hip. But I'll keep him, he can fix anything! I have a beautiful secret garden, with everything from Plumeria, to Penta. There is nothing better than sitting out there with a good book and seeing the palms and ferns wave in the breezes, in winter, the real time to be here in Florida. I have written and published my first book in a series that takes place on Lake Champlain in Vermont. My always home. The only thing like the Green Mountains are the Great Smokey's, and a little town called Bryson City, NC. My next home, hopefully!

Serenity Garden Tea House Author Signing in West Palm Beach

On Saturday April 4th, six local authors, Jianne Carlo, Traci Hall, Dayana Knight, Mona Risk, Patrice Wilton and Mary Ricksen, will be hosting a full afternoon high tea at the Serenity Garden Tea House, at 316 Vallette Way, in West Palm Beach, Florida, 561-655-3911. Check the web site for directions and information about the place; www.serenitygardentea.com.

The authors write romance; contemporary, young adult, paranormal, erotic suspense, and even time travel. The authors will be available to answer questions about writing, to make suggestions, have a raffle, and sign books. We encourage mingling.
The tea house is an amazing place. Kind of shabby sheik, when you look around, you can surely find your grandmother or your mothers china. The food is fabulous, there are teas I have never heard of in my life. And the scones, they're killer.
To ensure you will be able to participate in "High Tea" you will have to make a reservation. More to follow.

I am so looking forward to this event. The Serenity tea house is one of the best I've ever visited, and I grew up in an English colony.

The food and ambiance are amazing. I do hope lots of you will join us.

Mary, if I were going to be anywhere in the near vicinity, I'd definitely stop by! Alas, I'm here in Colorado. The Tea House you described sounds wonderful. I love places like that. There's one in Boulder that I adore.

Have a great time!

Helen

Just popping in to say 'hi' and thanks for commenting on my Blog the other day.

I hope you had a very enjoyable booksigning - it sounds wonderful. Wish I could have been 'beamed down' via the Enterprise or something, it's a long way across the pond!
